Daily Devotional - July 2007The following is the bible reading program for the month of July.
July 1
“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful” (Psalm 1:1).
To walk in the counsel of the ungodly is to take advice that doesn’t line up with the Word. When you need direction, consult the Holy Spirit and seek the perspective of mature Christians who know the Word of God.
July 2
“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16).
As a child of God, you have a right to go to your heavenly Father with every need and desire of your heart. If you have accepted Jesus, you have been made righteous, so take advantage of your rights through Him!
July 3
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).
Don’t carry your burdens. Give them to Jesus by faith. He is well able to help you through difficult times.
July 4
“Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it] and He will sustain you; He will never allow the [consistently] righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall, or fail)” (Psalm 55:22, AMP).
Your cares are none of your business, but they are God’s business. When it seems as if you can’t take anymore, turn to God.
July 5
“…for the joy of the Lord is your strength” (Nehemiah 8:10).
There is a difference between joy and happiness. While happiness may depend on your outward circumstances, joy comes from the truth you know from God’s Word. It will give you the strength to go on when you feel like giving up.
July 6
“Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness” (Psalm 30:11).
Your days of sadness and depression are over! Rise up in the joy of the Lord. Praise Him for all He has done and continues to do in your life.
July 7
“Many evils confront the [consistently] righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all” (Psalm 34:19, AMP).
In this world you will experience attacks. However, because you have accepted Jesus Christ into your life, you have a covenant that guarantees your deliverance.
July 8
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee” (Isaiah 26:3).
Keep your focus on the Lord and your mind will remain in a calm, undisturbed state.
July 9
“And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven” (Matthew 16:19).
God has given His children authority on Earth. Don’t put up with the enemy’s harassment in your life. Bind him in the name of Jesus and loose the power of God on your behalf!
July 10
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12).
The battles you fight in life are against spiritual forces. When you recognize the work of the enemy, use the Word of God against him by confessing it boldly and in faith.
July 11
“Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?” (Isaiah 58:6)
Fasting can be used to break the bondage the enemy places on you or others. Be obedient to God when He instructs you to fast. You will reap a great reward.
July 12
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31).
Wait on God by spending time in His presence and meditating on His Word. You will be built up and strengthened for what is ahead of you.
July 13
“He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake” (Psalm 23:3).
God will give you mental and emotional healing if you need it. His love for you ensures that He will care for every aspect of your being.
July 14
“He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber” (Psalm 121:3).
God will keep you and protect you at all times. He never sleeps on His job!
July 15
“Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy” (Jude 24).
Don’t be afraid of missing the mark. Trust God and His Word. He will provide a way out of every tempting situation.
July 16
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
When you became born again, you became a new creation. Your past was wiped out and you are innocent of sin.
July 17
“For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the men of integrity, blameless and complete [in God’s sight], shall remain in it” (Proverbs 2:21, AMP).
Develop the character of God because it will determine whether you are able to hold on to the blessings God brings to you.
July 18
“But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed” (James 1:14).
It is easy for you to be enticed by temptation when you have lust in your heart. Meditate on the Word of God so you can purify your motives. Then you can avoid being distracted by the seduction of the enemy.
July 19
“But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway” (1 Corinthians 9:27).
It is your responsibility to discipline your body and its desires. By remaining focused on the Word and establishing your heart on its truths, your spirit will become stronger than your flesh.
July 20
“Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them” (Hebrews 7:25).
Jesus is constantly interceding for us. He is your Advocate before your heavenly Father.
July 21
“And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house” (Acts 16:31).
Household salvation is a covenant promise from God, so release your faith for your unsaved family members to become born again.
July 22
“Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counselors there is safety” (Proverbs 11:14).
Don’t be afraid to talk to mature Believers about important decisions you must make. It is advantageous to seek counsel before stepping out on certain things.
July 23
“My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up” (Psalm 5:3).
Take time every morning to commune with God. Pray, seek His face and expect the guidance you need for the day.
July 24
“Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing” (Psalm 100:2).
It is a privilege to serve the Lord. Rejoice that you have opportunities every day to minister to Him.
July 25
“The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light” (Romans 13:12).
Turn away from behavior that characterizes the lifestyle of those who don’t know God. Embrace the light and truth of His Word in all that you do.
July 26
“…I shall be anointed with fresh oil” (Psalm 92:10).
Each day presents a new opportunity to walk in a higher or greater level of power. Ask God for a fresh supply of His anointing so you can be more effective in every area of your life.
July 27
“Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established” (Proverbs 16:3).
When you commit your works to God, trust Him fully with the outcome and process of whatever you are doing. He will show you exactly what to do and how.
July 28
“The earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein” (Psalm 24:1).
The Earth and all of its resources belong to God. Knowing this, have confidence that He will supply all your needs in abundance.
July 29
“And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment” (Mark 12:30).
God commands us to love Him with everything we have, both spiritually and naturally. That means giving your resources to Him as He directs. When you give to the Kingdom of God, you demonstrate your love for your heavenly Father.
July 30
“For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls” (1 Peter 2:25).
When you don’t know the Lord, it is as if you are a lost sheep. However, when you return to Him, He is able to guide you and direct your life.
July 31
“For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:26).
Becoming a part of God’s family through Jesus Christ is what makes you a child of God. Accept Him today as your Lord and Savior so you can partake of His blessings both on Earth and in Heaven.Go Back to Top
